    New car tire wear rateable

I just had a close call while questioning the premature tread-wear on a 2011 SRX.
They came with Michelin tires that should get 55,000 miles.
The tread-wear indicators were present at 26000 miles.
My service guy suggested new tires and could get us a good deal.
I investigated the prorated warranty with a couple of tire dealers and was told that due to the fact they were OEM tires that they didnt carry a treadwear warranty.

This was true for Michelin prior to 2011.

My tires were pro rated and the replacement set were 1/2 the price.

Im glad I didnt just take a tire dealer, or my service guys word for it.

    Hello jrannis,

I am sorry to hear your tires had a premature tread-wear. I am glad you were able to investigate this on your own and get the replacement set for a better pricing than what was offered from your dealer. If any other questions or concerns arise, don't hesitate to reach out to us!

    Sincerely,

    Laura M.

My dealer is top notch. They are just not a Michelin dealer so, unfortunately, could not help me with the tread wear problem.
I just want people to understand that they should look into the change that was made in 2011 concerning the tires.

I'm sure all of the folks in the 2003-2007 CTS forum whose cars came with OEM tires after 2011 will be thrilled to hear this!

Yea probably not the best post on the 03-07 cts thread haha. But I'm sure other model cars may find this interesting!
