I just purchased an 04 CTS and I love it. I have heard there is an oil consumption issue with these cars. I have also heard they are quite fun to tinker and upgrade with. Few cool aftermarket parts. Not the cheapest to play with but very cool!

    Re: 2007 CTS 3.6 opinions

I have a 2007, 3.6. Great car. Really well made. With the kind of mileage the one you are looking at has, you can't go wrong. Once you get it you will want to do some maintenance. First check the trans cooler lines. They WILL leak, its just a matter of when. There are instructions on here to install a parallel pass cooler to fix it without spending the $600 a garage wants. Next do the plugs, all fluids and maintain your oil. There is a specific TSB related to the timing chain up to 150,000 miles. If you get a check engine with P0008 then that's the code that will get you the chain fixed under warranty. That should do it. Read through this forum for more details.
