Need info on V front end conversion...

I like the look of the V front bumper cover better than the stocker on my C.
Is it just a cover and upper with lower meash grill swap?
Should I try some bone yards first or just call in some P/N's?
By the way how can I find the V P/N's?

    Thanks,
    Mark

The whole conversion is in Reeds FAQ including part numbers and cost. I found a V cover in the V Forum but they are very rare.

Thanks again for all the info....
Since we are on the subject of stuff fitting....The dealer told me that the rockers off the V won't fit???
Maybe the CTS Sport rockers will....can't see why they would be different though.

Not only do the V parts fit, they're plug 'n play. They are a direct replacement with zero mods required. In looking at pics of the CTS Sport skirts, they look identical to the V parts, although I've never seen them in person. Total price is around $200 from GMPD, plus S/H and paint.

CTS to CTS-V front bumper swap? Q.

My CTS will be heading to the garage for a new front bumper thanks to a 16 yr old girl, and I did some searching about this topic however there were more replies about the front grill so I have to make it clear.

Does a CTS-V front bumper fit onto a CTS? direct bolt on? or minor mods required? 04 CTS.

    thanks

Re: CTS to CTS-V front bumper swap? Q.

This has been done many times in the past four or five years. The entire instructions with part numbers is on the sister site: http://cadillacfaq.com/faq/index.html . . . . click on 'How do I install a V front end on a standard CTS"

You don't necessarily need the lower air deflector (belly pan) as your current one should snap right on. The front license plate mount is slightly different for the V bumper. The V inner fenderwells have brake ducts to match the duct under the V fog lights. Also, the actual brake ducts that go in between the bumper cover and the inner fenderwell panels are not listed there, but a search here will get you the part numbers. SDMarine posted them about 2 or 3 years ago.

Most of the parts are cheap (other than the bumper cover, fogs, and grills).

I heard you only need the bumper and the grilles for the upgrade so why is there all kinds of extra parts listed on the cadillacfaq website. My question is do I really need the R and L bumper extensions and if so why.

Re: CTS to CTS-V front bumper swap? Q.

    1sickcaddy,

I'm guessing the stock inner fenderwell extensions should fit, but you'll basically be plugging the brake cooling duct that is integrated into the CTS-V fog light bracket. I guess one could drill a hole with a hole saw in the stock piece. One can retrofit the stock CTS fogs with some fabrication, and do just the bumper and the lower grill. The FAQ instructions were written when the CTS was only out for a year or so. Back then, it was unthinkable to 'jerry-rig' a 40,000+ Cadillac, and the instructions show how to do it the correct way. Now that the price of the early cars is below $15,000, and the younger crowd is driving them, budgets seem to be coming into play more. There are always cheaper ways to get things done (like a custom or used CTS-V exhaust, instead of a $1200 Borla)

Be aware that it will run somewhere around $1200 to $1500 with paint. If you just do the bumper and lower grill, it's still close to $500 in parts, plus paint. I did the side skirts at the same time so all of the paint would match.
