    Guess the Repair Cost

Had my car hit today by a hit and run driver in the parking lot. A witness said it was 2 women in a ford truck they hit and zoomed while I was at work. Come out to find out this happened to my baby.

    PS Yes I have insurance

So far I think I will need:

    A Bumper

    Drivers Side Light

Possibly a quarter panel because that was hit too.

Your damage is going to be high and may even be a write off \ total loss.
That rear quarter panel damage is going to be the main reason for it.
They are going to have to cut it, weld into it, and smooth and repaint it. There could be frame damage with that as well.
The trunk looks pushed in a bit too on that side, and the tail light looks cracked.

I would expect the damage to run somewhere around 6-7k. If you are going to fix this yourself... you might have to pull that fender out if possible and replace the bumper and tail light and see if the trunk lid closes and opens correctly. If not, you'll have to replace that too.

I was thinking more of the 4-5k range. I got hit slightly forward of this in a parking lot (fender well) and it was around $800 for the rear quarter panel..which probably ended up being a bunch of bondo and pretty paint lol.

But anyways, if you want it to look perfect you will most likely need a new trunk. I would replace the rear bezel while youre at it and get the cts-v bumper instead...it costs the same new as regular bumper. Also you could find a tail light on ebay pretty cheap..

Best is to get a quote from insurance then go around and get a couple free cost estimates done from multiple shops on it.

how many miles are on it? i would say 6-8 is what the insurance co will say, and then, if they don't total it, the autobody will find at least another 1000. and if you live in new york, then add another 2k just for the hell of it haha

You should go back to where you were hit and see if any businesses near by have outside cameras.. might get lucky and catch a license plate number of the truck containing the hit n runners! Everything has a camera on it now.. wouldn't be surprised if this works. I watch too much NCIS! lol~

    Re: Guess the Repair Cost

I'm with Tlorenzen, probably 4-5k. My car was hit twice in recent years, and one of the incidents included 2 doors and the quarter.

The general rule of thumb is 1k/per panel. I highly doubt it'll be totaled.

2500-3300. The quarter isn't bad and the deck lid looks to be a simple pull. Id say No more than 8 hours bodywork replace light and bumper. The whole rear end and both quarters will need to be painted. If I had this in my shop on a Monday it would be out the door Wednesday.

Just my professional opinion. Costs will very in every city. And there is always more damage than you can see in a picture. Take my statement with a grain of salt.
