XP? Come on man get with the times! I know Vista was bad but 7 is a solid OS. **** that windows 8 bullshit.
KOT, if you were using a windows machine I could help as I have a script that does almost the exact same thing except it closes the capture software (resource hog) I use to record gameplay when my gpu runs too hot while capping planetside 2/bf3 footage.
Nope, I'm on a Mac. I gave my Windows 7 machine, originally Vista, to my nephew. I use XP on the Mac via WMware, solely to program my remote control.
I tried to use it on my Windows 7 computer, which it worked but the connection to the remote was crap. Then when a friend of mine provided me with the WMware and Windows 7 64bit on the Mac. The program for the remote wouldn't even install. So I had to download a pirated Windows XP and it's working just fine. Only problem is, I can't directly connect to my NAS with XP. Because I have NO idea how to map it. I was able to before on the Mac, but that was on the 2010 Mac Mini. I now have a 2011 and a SSD. Let me tell you, this thing is super fast. The fastest that I've had a full reboot was 35 seconds. From a shutdown, to a full reboot.

That's it? I could swear you were gonna have a very snarky thing to say. I am disappointed in you Canuck.
I have a 250GB Kingston SSD in my work laptop with Win7....I know what you mean KOT, holy lightning fast boot Batman! 30s...maybe.
I'm contemplating buying a small SSD to use as my boot drive in my gaming PC, so much faster, it's unreal.
I'm all about American made, which is why I went with OtherWorldComputing as my SSD. The two that I bought, a 240GB for $110 and a 120GB for $70, were super cheap deals. They both were used off of eBay and I am shocked as all heck that I got them for that cheap. The 240GB is in my 2011 Mac Mini and the 120GB is in my girl friend's 2009 MBP. She's amazed by how super freaken fast it is, and that the MBP has an average battery life of over 6 hours. Where as her current HP laptop only has a few minutes, even with an double battery pack. In the beginning, the double battery pack lasted a while. But now it's only 30 minutes or so. The battery pack is only 2 or 3 years old, while the computer is from 2006ish, Vista error. While the 2009 MBP has original battery and it last for hours.
You still can use an OWC SSD in a non-Mac. You just have to format it for Windows. macsales.com
