Does anyone know how remove the chrome lip piece off the hood of the car??

I wanna get a black mesh grill and I don't want that piece sticking out like a sore thumb.

    Re: Grille questions

just lift the hood up, theres like 6 or so bolts. take a socket and unscrew them comes right out. It will look weird without the piece though, I suggest plastidipping it. will blend right in.

Like I said, plasti dip it. its like $5 for a can of the stuff, and it works great. Can find it at Walmart now I think.

Isn't the lip on the CTS Sport black (like on a black CTS)?

Anyways, it's no brainer easy to either plastidip or spray paint them, they are small parts and should be easy to paint at home in no time.

^ Brown 'm talking about this Sport CTS not the wheel pacakge sport:

Notice the black lip, on the hood that's what I'm talking about. That's a stock lip right there.

I believe the 06-07 models that came stock with the sport grill had a color matched molding strip instead of a chrome one.

    Re: Grille questions

The sport CTS and cts with sport wheel package is the same thing. come to think of it, the guy who lives across the street from my friends has a red cts with the sport package and I think the upper lip is also color matched. I'll look next time I go over.

    Re: Grille questions

I had the paint shop do mine while I was getting some other small stuff done, it definitely stuck out before that.

Still contemplating on what I want to do as far as the emblem goes... I'm thinking I'll just black it out.

I felt like mine stuck out so I added the chrome trim to the grill itself and I am very happy with the look. Have debated plastidiping the grill but I think I'll leave it the way it is now.
