Speed Adjustment For Windshield Wipers Quit working.

As the title states I think the speed adjustment for my windshield wipers quit working. By this I mean the spinning piece that only adjust on the first level of having the wipers on. I noticed this the other day while it was raining. Not that this is too crazy of a deal, just an annoyance that I'd eventually like to fix. Does anyone know how this could be fixed, how expensive to replace, or if it's potentially something else within the line?

    Thanks.

Most wiper issues are due to a bad circuit in the wiper motor cover. That is usually the cause for wipers that won't turn off. I can't say for sure if it is the same for your problem. Maybe someone else has had the same problem.

So today I changed out the switch and still have the same problem. Reverted back to old switch and will be returning the new one. Since that's narrowed down any ideas??

Symptoms are wipers work fine except the variable control on the slow setting. It is set to slow just like the middle position and cannot be changed...

Did you try the motor housing like Blayne said?

No. My stupidity, but I don't have a clue on how to mess with the motor housing or what would need to get. Know of any tutorials?
