2003 cts oil blew out everywhere and car smoked up

I bought this 2003 cts without warranty just under 2 months ago. I seen the car fax and it was always serviced at cadillac and was very well taken care of, its just about mint with 150k miles.
Anyway today.. I noticed i was trailing white smoke, i stopped right away and shut off the engine. The white smoke came from under the hood. What i guess is oil is all over the very bottom part of the front of the engine. The oil just poured out like blood from a head wound with the car off. It seemed like it sprayed everywhere at the bottom with force.
I tried to look to see where this came from and looking at the front of the engine, its like i see nothing on the engine.. Like the oil sprayed out from under and went forward.
I had to move the car a little forward which is probably dumb.. But the engine started and sounded fine.. As i moved the car several feet i lacked power.. The engine rpms went up without the car speeding up like it should. I did pull over right away, and theengine sounded good.. Just the oil fell out.
Seemed mainly on the driverside.. My tire driver side tire had oil on it.. Under the car is where oil was all over the bottom. Looking at the engine from underside seemed clean.. Like it leaked from something under the car next to the engine and sprayed forward.
Im afaid tomorrow when i have it told they will say my engine is finished. Any idea what happened.. Maybe a seal.. Can it be fixed..

From the sounds of it. Your problem is not the engine, but the radiator and the piss poor connection for the transmission cooler. For the most part installing an aftermarket cooler will fix this. But hopefully you didn't cause any harm by trying to move it.

I really dont think i caused any harm during the move. I dipped my finger in the fluid and it looked to me like oil... Could that be mistaken for oil.. I smelled it and i thought too it more or less smelled like it was oil. But smelling oil isnt a hobby of mine.
I hope it was what you think it might be.. Any idea on taking it to a garage for how much it might set me back.. I hope under 1000. Thank
you so much for the quick reply.

Transmission fluid is just another grade of oil, so it would be hard to distinguish from the engine oil unless it was brand new. (Tranny fluid is typically red, but once it's run for a while it gets dirty just like engine oil, so it turns brown/black).

As KOT said, the trans cooler lines and their connections to the radiator are pretty common weak points. Plenty of threads about it. Here's one with some pictures. Some folks have found that it's easier to just plumb an external trans cooler (which you can get at any auto parts store - something like this) rather than mess with the cooler built into the radiator. Again, there have been a number of threads about it, so search around and you should be able to find some "How To"s.

Also, fill out your profile with your location. You might find that there are CTS enthusiasts near you that can help you install the cooler and save you a bunch of money.

    ^ This.

I would bet it to be the trans cooler lines as well. I've seen these fail. In my opinion, depending on your location, your best bet is an external trans cooler. Would be the cheapest and simplest option to do yourself as well.
