Cool Re: I hate having to bring the car in for this.

Believe it or not I have noticed this on many GM radio and control buttons. Now here is where people think I am crazy, and believe me I am not a male chauvinist, but actually a lady who wears long fingernails is usually to blame for the chipped paint on these buttons. Also, it allows more light to come through and it looks worse at night.

I had an 03 Tahoe did the same thing in about 6 months. Yes, long fingernails to blame. Not mine by the way!

Maybe I should just have my girlfriend scrape them all clean and not worry anymore.

I just had my whole radio replaced for the face plate doing the same thing. When I got the car back just Friday evening I noticed that te right knob was worst that the last radio. I guess I'll return to the dealer and have them replace it again.
