Gas smell in cabin at idle aftr running for awhile

My 2005 CTS with 92,000 miles has recently developed a fuel smell in the cabin when the car is idling after being driven at speed, this usually happens after warm up and there are no fuel leaks in the system. I believe there is something wrong with the evap system but there are no codes on OBD reader and there is no check engine light.
I have seen some comments about some type of motor failure on the evap system but have no distinct knowledge of where it is, what it looks like, or how it works.

Anybody seen this type of problem and resolved it?

No codes being thrown? Get underneath and inspect the cat and where it connects to the manifold. I had this exact problem and there was a crack in/near the flange iirc.
