    The engine control unit.

Our forum Cadillac in Russia we have an epidemic fault ECU.
It scares me and I have 3 questions.
    1. Can I just delete the faulty unit and install a new, or should I activate the new code immobilisation ECU?
    2. How can I move the computer away from the dislocation of hot vibrating motor?
    3. Does the CTS unit comfort similar BMW and other European cars?

    OK try again.
    1. In European cars engine ECU works only after the identification code of the key drivers of immobilization. For this reason, replace the computer produces only dealer. It programs a new engine control unit the old code immobilization. What about the Cadillac CTS?
    2. ECU engine fails on because he is directly on the engine and is subject to overheating and vibration. It makes sense for him to find a more peaceful place under the hood?
    3. European cars have a single unit of comfort. This unit is responsible for all the equipment in the car and is the transmitter code immobilization. Does CTS such blocks in its design?

I'm sorry, but the Russian Cadillac dealers are not sufficiently competent in the field of car service. But very well trained to take money from the Cadillac owners.

sandalet, yes the ECM requires dealer programming. I would assume even the worst Russian dealer could at least accomplish this simple task. In the states it might cost anywhere from $0-$200 to get programmed (usually costing somewhere in the middle around $100).
