    Not sure if that would do anything to protect the trans. Peak torque for the LY7 is going to be lower and probably with your current setup it must have dropped a bit more, shaving 300 RPM of the top end doesn't IMHO seem to be a major inhibitor of trans failure.

    Thats true, peak torque is 2800rpms. I dont really know of any way to really protect it besides swapping. The 6000 rev limit is to pretty much protect my motor i guess. I never really let it redline anyway so it shouldnt matter, but for the dyno ill have it set back.
