    Play in front left wheel.

Hello, I am trying to get some input. I have to play in my front left tire on my 2004 Cadillac CTS. When I put the car in the air and move the tire back and forth it seems that the play is coming from the inner tie rod. I'm not exactly sure how the inner tie rod works. I wanted to get some opinions and see what people thought and maybe some ideas on how to fix this. Thank you in advance!

If you aren't good with the mechanical side....bring it to a local mechanic. Part will be cheap and fairly easy to change so it won't be too pricy. You will need an alignment when it's done.

I'm actually pretty good mechanic. The problem is I don't know a whole lot about the inner tie rods and how they work. I know a fair amount about engines and transmissions in the way that other stuff works but just not a whole lot about the way to the inner tie rods work.

And I have checked ball joints and the tie rod ends. Ball joint is fine tie rod end is fine if I move the tire left in right then I can see that there is play in the inner tie rod. I just don't know much about how the inner tie rod connects.

Well I don't know how much play if any it is allowed but maybe this will help. It's for a CTS-V but I think they're the same as a CTS Base.
