    2006 CTS Driver Memory Setting?

In my CTS, I have my driver 1 set up to my own personal settings. But everytime I start my car, it decides to revert to driver 2 settings... I looked in the manual but didnt see anything or I must have overlooked it... any clue how to get it to always start with driver 1?

Press and hold driver 1 until you hear a beep to save it.

Re: 2006 CTS Driver Memory Setting?

I'm very sorry you've been having this frustration, D-RoKK! Have you been reading your owners manual's section on the memory feature? The following excerpt is from page 2-52!

"If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, the
vehicle must be in PARK (P) to recall the stored driving
positions. If your vehicle has a manual transmission
and the engine is running, the parking brake must be set
to recall the memory seat driving positions. The stored
driving positions can be recalled without setting the
parking brake if the vehicle is off.

Press one of the numbered memory buttons to recall
the stored setting. Each time a memory button is
pressed, a single beep will sound.
Three chimes will sound and the setting will not be
recalled if you press button 1 or 2 when the vehicle is
not in PARK (P) on an automatic transmission or
the parking brake is not set on a manual transmission.
If you would like the stored driving positions to be
recalled when unlocking your vehicle with the remote
keyless entry transmitter or when you place the key
in the ignition, see DIC Vehicle Personalization
    on page 3-70.

To stop recall movement of the memory feature at any
time, press one of the power seat or mirror controls."

If you're still having concerns after consulting the manual, then please email me at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com with the last eight of your VIN. I'm happy to investigate further for you!

    Best,

    Katie

    I know what it is...

You are using the remote for driver one, but using the key for driver two.

There are three settings for auto seat movement.

One is disabled, so nothing happens.

Two it's enabled but controlled by the remote.

Three it's enabled but controlled by the key.

Now with that being said. Driver one can have it set by the remote, while driver two has it set by the key. So my suggestion is to swap the keys around. Because right now it sounds like the number two key is on the number one remote.
