ok, well if that antenna module was the culprit, wouldnt it NOT work? i mean, why would it work untill right when the amp in the trunk clicks? I just feel that something is shutting off power.. Id love to study the actual wiring diagram and trace where wires run. but i dont have a wiring diagram.
I posted a link to access chitons online database and there r some wiring diagrams on that site. Just follow the instructions I posted it under chiltons manual.
So Ive been pouring over the wiring diagrams for my car. I can track all the wiring from the trunk dr release fuse, right up to the antenna module and there are no relays or anything that should affect it. but i have a hard time believing my problem is a bad antenna module, when the scenario is the same everytime.. 22-25 seconds after i lock or unlock (time starting after the last key fob button click)... the amp in the trunk clicks, and my fob doesnt work any longer. to me that screms that power is being cut off to it. Yet i still have 12volts at the trunk dr fuse. im about ready to pull my hair out..
well i tried for two hours last night to get my headliner down enough to get to the power clip on the antenna module. The headliner is glued to the metal roof right at the back on my car. You pull and it pops the metal roof in and out. Also the power wire to the module is only about 4inches long coming out of a main harness that is completely covered in glue to the headliner. Not only can i not see the power wire clip, you cant even slide the antenna module out of the clip that holds the whole unit to the headliner because of this short cord. BUT- i found the plug behind the drivers sail panel that when unplugged, kills my keyless entry from working at all.. I test all those wires and found that none coincided with the click in the trunk. The power wires always have power. SO im not sure where to go now. I honestly dont believe that the antenna module is bad because it is consistent when it works and doesnt work. its freakin clockwork. doesnt make sense. IT really feels like a setting or something thats controlling it.
