    2005 CTS 6spd 2.8 - Flex Disc replacement

Hi all first post, have had my CTS for about a year so far with a few problems here and there (front exhaust pipe snapping during trip to Florida from CT)

I now have an issue with the Front Flex Disc or Rubber Donut between the transmission and the drive shaft expanding and very loose around the bolts. I spent the afternoon reading up on the forums for an answer to my problem
I have the same problem many of you had with the flex disc rubber wearing out, and I refuse to spend $800-1000 on a whole new shaft from the dealer

    Looking at the 2 options:
    https://www.revshift.com/shop/cadill...sc-coupler.php
looks good , but wondering about vibration noise and if a stiff aluminum piece would affect normal wear and tear since there is now room for flexing

    https://creative-steel.com/store/ind...duct_list&c=43
it looks like creative steel doesnt offer the front disc anymore for manual transmissions :/

I've seen some post about BMW discs being the same sizes but none to do with my 2.8 unless I missed it somewhere
and there was an ebayer deutschepartsusa but it doesnt looks like theres would fit mine

Any insight would be appreciated, I am kinda leaning towards revshift , ive seen pros and cons for creative-steel on some posts , but cant chalk it up to poor installing or product faults

Either option will work, CS might just be out of stock. You will also need to replace your trans mount first .. which is the cause of your issue. Are you doing the work yourself or taking it in? The center bearing will need to be replaced sometime soon as well if its not already shot. You can get a new drive shaft from gmpartsdirect for around $600 thats not much more then the cost of all the replacement parts you'll need to repair this one.

I have not crawled under my car to look at the guibos, I am just assuming they are bad considering my differential bushing is shot. I have an '05 with an automatic, and I just ordered the Anchor mount from RockAuto and the RevShift transmission mount insert, and I am going to drive down to Salem next month and have Creative Steel put in their differential bushing, front and rear flex disks, and install my new tranny mount. They said they would do the install for $400, plus the $200 for the flex disks (I already bought the bushing). I will have probably $800 into my driveline rebuild once Im done, but it will be better than factory. It is definitely something you want to have done all at once.
