Help on tire + rim match for CTS 2005

    Hi Guys,

I need some help here on getting new tires for CTS 2005 V3.6 with lux+sport package. I just ordered four tires+rims matched in the following way,

    tire: 215 55R 17
    rim: 17 x 7

ls anyone using the same tire size here? Do they fit well?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

215 is too narrow for the CTS. Factory was 225/50R17.

Most of us, including myself, run 235 to 245.

I actually have 245/40R18 for my summer rims. And 235/50R17 for my winters, which are my factory wheels.

Re: Help on tire + rim match for CTS 2005

Thanks, KOT! I am actually getting winter tires. I didn't find any michelin tires at size 225/50R17. A mechanics told me that the narrow size 215 might give better traction in snow plus 55 ratio makes it deeper.

Is Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT a good choice?

I had Goodyear Ultra-grip ice on my old Grand Prix for winter and that thing was awesome in any amount of snow. I tried many times to get it stuck and never succeeded. I highly recommend them.

Thanks for sharing the experience. I will probably cancel my order and get the goodyear ones in the OEM size.
