could be in the steering column. I haven't pulled apart mine but generally everything goes through the turn signal cancellation switch. These cars have different circuits for the brake lamp and turn signal lamps so I don't imagine the brake circuit goes through the turn signal switch.

Might need to replace the signal stalk. Whenever I would turn to the left on my V, the highbeams would cut on. LOL I ended up replacing the stalk... no issues for a few months now. Rippy has a good price on em. I picked mine up from him for somewhere around ~50 or less if I'm not mistaken. Then again... V stalk <> CTS auto stalk.

    Re: Turn signal grimlins!!

Honestly fellas, I don't think it's the turn signal stalk. Because I am looking at the schematic and with the problem at hand. Where the "left turn" as well as the "hazard lights" on the left side doesn't work. I am point towards either to a grounding issue, which is common with GM cars specially with the front turn signals. Or the turn signal module that is located next to the steering wheel.

I say this, because the hazard switch that is above the radio goes directly to the turn signal module. From there it goes to the lights.

I been having a problem with my front left turn signal burning the plastic onto the contact. For some reason it's getting way to hot.

Did you end up fixing the issue? What was the problem?

It could be the bulb holder, if you think about it if that's making contact, you go over a bump, the circuit breaks and so on.

    I didn't think I'd get a reply.. but gave it a shot..

@CTSUK would the bulb holder issue affect both front and back lights as well as the arrow on the dashboard? In any case. I'm going to get it checked, don't think I'll be figuring this one out and it's a bit dangerous driving around with a defective turn signal..

More than likely a bad turn signal stalk on your column if your blinkers are going all crazy on you....

I had the same problem a while back.....and it turned out to be the bulb......the filament inside broke and the coil would sometimes be "resting" on the post, allowing the bulb to work, and at other times, it would not work.

I changed the bulb, and the problem has not resurfaced in over a year.
