when i go on the freeway or go over 60mph istart hearing a ticking noise that seems to be coming from passenger front of car it doent get louder once im at 60 it stays the same at any speed . when i get home pop hood nothing step on gas to raise rpms nothing. could it be bearings , purge valve , brakes , suspension??
any ideas , anyone experience this ???
It probably is not the purge valve, as the ticking noise associated with that is hard to discern while driving. To rule out the purge valve, start the car, raise the hood, go to the passenger side of the engine compartment, pull off the engine cover and reach down and touch the purge valve. You can physically feel the ticking. If you feel it, replace it. I think I paid $30 and the total job took less than 5 minutes. I also doubt it is bearings, as they typically present themselves during turning at slow speeds. I hate hearing noises in my car as well, I want a quiet ride, so I get your frustration. Unfortunately, a lot of it is trial and error. Rule them out one by one until you find the culprit! The upside is that what you are describing does not sound like an expensive fix.
