    Re: Horsepower mods

LOL 155rwhp gains from a manifold... I'mma call that B.S. right now.

FAST 90 for LS V8 engines make maybe 20rwhp... so i doubt a ported mani on the 3.6 is going to put an extra 50rwhp down. Maybe on a fully rebuild custom made, ported, stroked all kinda nonsense engine.

That isn't to say that you won't see horsepower gains from a ported intake mani, ported tb, etc... just don't expect 50rwhp.

And mike is right, don't read too into manufacturer claims... just take 'em as maybe 5-10rwhp addition a piece. The Volant I believe put something like 10-13rwhp on the dyno test for the intakes. You'll know where you stand with a dyno, but more importantly, with a run at the quarter mile. Look at your trap speed and you'll be able to tell where your HP lies.

A member or 2 installed 2010 camaro headers on the car and had issues clearing the steering rack?!? Or a component on that side. I wonder if a exhaust shop/machine shop would or could bend the piping on those headers and fab heat shields to make it work

The ones who installed them had engine bay fires I think.

    Re: Horsepower mods

Remember the old Chevy cast iron ex. manifolds, some of those were pretty close to performing like headers.
Too bad they don't make something like for a 6. Quiet & low risk of fires.
Clifford Research was/is big on 4 & 6 cylinder performance, too bad they didn't jump in. Maybe they have something in Australia or some other place Globally.

A long while back, when the 1st gen, was simply the CTS, and still available new at the dealer......Lund Cadillac had designed, and sold headers for the CTS. I have no idea for which engine (but I believe it was the 3.6), and not sure if you can get them anymore. I had read about a few forums members that have these headers....do a search for lund+headers

The VMax CNC ported TB is only good for 4-5 rwhp, but there is a good tq increase right at the hit and throttle response is dramatic. For $150 it is cheap $ for the results. The Iceolator is a solid 20 rwhp/25-28rwtq with NO tune.....add a trifecta tune and your probably going to see more. CAI varies...and the RX catchcan will show a slight amount depending on how much oil your ingesting before due to the detonation caused by the oil will disapear (fuel economy usually goes up 1-3) but the real benefit is eliminating the cause of the gunk on the intake valves.

The VMax plenum spacer doesent give any gains, but does help reduce the timing pulled so thats a plus.

Single or twin turbo (we broke 600 fly wheel hp on a 2010 LLT) and the supercharger are both pretty dang amazing.

All documented over and over by customers and other tuner shops.

Will the vmax ported TB fit with a Volant intake installed? I don't have much play between the air intake and the radiator. If it is close to the size of the factory TB it should work.

FWIW, here’s a link to an interesting post regarding the past existence of Lund Cadillac's CTS Headers.

I wrote about this a few weeks ago and got an email/reply that there wasnt one for the 3.6...I was ready for the core charge and all that.

Although this the link is about a 2004 3.2L CTS (1100hp 217mph) it shows anything is possible if you have cubic money:
