Thanks everyone. Now all I need, is to replace the timing chain. They say it's loose. Yipes!

I had this problem a while back. Drove the car a little ways, turned it off then restarted and problem was fixed. In my case, I know its my battery, just don't want to replace it until I have to.

Re: Urgent help! 04 CTS key stuck in ignition!

my key is getting stuck quiet often and I have to use the fallback method of pushing the button under the steering column. However when I place the key back in the ignition It doesn't start and my key gets stuck again. I would wait a bit and it would start. Then when that no longer worked I disconnected the battery cable and reset it and that worked for a little while too. Now I am having it ^Jumped Off*to get it started. What could the problem be. One estimate was totaled over 1200.00 dollars.. Is this the normal cost for my car to start?.

So you had it jump started and it worked...

Can't imagine what it could be.

    Battery perhaps?

What was getting done for $1200. I suspect you have a battery issue. But, as a professional I would be hesitant to argue with another professional that has seen the car in person and done the testing. Any more details on the $1200 diagnosis?
