Hello, My Brother is having the same issue with his 2004 Cadillac CTS, with the key getting stuck inside the ignition to where i got on this forum and searched to find out how to get it out, now the cluster is not lighting up T/C lights up, i can't tell how much gas that I have in the car, Car symbol with the lock pops up. I think its either the Battery or the ECM/PCM, please help!
The stuck key is addressed in the owner's manual. There is a hole in the bottom side of the steering column that you can stick something in and release the key. A battery with a bad cell will still start the car but the key will be stuck. What does battery voltage read on the DIC key-on-engine-off?
Thank you dkosloski.. what a great tip.. found in the owners manual and solved a very tricky problem.. much appreciated.. Joe Cameron, Pittsford, NY
