    ***UPDATE***

it was the starter all along. i was unable to do the work myself. had to take the passenger side cat off to gain decent access. i would say the real key to performing this is getting the car as high as possible off the ground. i only own a set of ramps and it was just not high enough. old high school friend runs a shop and said it "called" for 1.8 hours to complete. typically runs $144 bucks labor, he swapped it for $80.

Yeah I was going to suggest that. A few of the other members have had phantom o2 codes cured by an ECM.

    chris,
you think there is any way this problem could be linked to the ecm?

possibly - usually when these ECMs go bad and cause a no-start condition they will not release the key though ... but that's just usually

Re: anyone changed the starter on an 03?

a couple of weekends ago, my son ran out to pick us up a burger, when he got back he said he couldnt get the key out. i went out, wiggled the wheel and it came right out. maybe that was the start of it. how much will an ecm run me?
