need a pk3 key

Let me start by saying hi to all.New 05 cts owner here.
purchased her to day and it only came with one key.
so im looking on ebay for a key and see mostly a key with a + on it but mine has PK3 on it.I brought a pk3 for my 05 grand prix some time a go.Can some one explain the difference between the + and the PK3 or shoot me a link please. Thank you
and correct me if im wrong could i use any GM key that say PK3 on it.?

Hi Ham, the right key has a chip in it to match to the ignition transponder that tells the computer anti-theft circuitry that you are the legitimate owner. Locksmiths seem to be the low cost option.

You might want to read this thread I keep adding to, with lots of information about the CTS and its design and other interesting stuff. You'll better appreciate what a fine car you've bought. There's some chit-chat but there is good information throughout. Congratulations.

I purchased a PK3 key from ebay. I had it cut at a local key shop for a dollar, and programmed it myself in about a minute.

Despite that I am a Boston Red Sox fan, I don't hate New York. Matter of fact, I've been to New York 1,000 times more than Boston. lol Mostly because I travel through it to get to other places.

key should say "PK3 +" on the shaft ... sometimes the plus is left off though
that part number is correct though for all first gen CTS models 2003-2007 (incl v-series)

Best go with Rippy, not only is he a Cadillac dealer. But he's a site vendor, deal with him you help keep the site up and running.

haha, yes we love new york ... old york too.. and york maine ... we ship to the 50 US states (although AK and HI are pretty expensive)

shipping would be about $9 on UPS ground to NY

Agreed. For some reason, I completely forgot Rippy. Guess I'm used to the larger parts being obtained by him. LOL Not trying to assail manhoods, just throwin it out there. LOL
