The seat will fit. You might have to splice some wires together instead of using the connectors (plugs).

You can find something to replace the handle. Make a wooden knob for it or something. Where did it break ?

Oh, I just saw coppertone. You're the guy that bought Brandon's car ? How is it holding up ? He hated to sell it.

Just check under your carpet that is under your current seat. As it's been stated before, the harness maybe there just laying around. If it is, check to see if the 30 amp circuit breaker is in the fuse box under the rear seat.

If neither is there, then from the looks of it. There are only two wires for the "power", ground and 12+. That is me going by the service manual. Just add a 30amp fuse at the very least, or the circuit breaker.

Re: Manual passenger seat convert to power

Hey, sorry I've been super busy at work. Yes, I bought Brandon's car and it's doing pretty good. I'm finding the little 'quirks' that every used car has. I'll be doing the PCV TSB, plugs, new valve covers/seals, CPS and Evap Solenoid next week. The transmission sounds like garbage in reverse...weird. I've put some 18's with new 245/45/18 rubber, added a OEM CTS-V grille off an 05, installed an E&G Classics stainless dual exhaust and I am in the midst of replacing all the black seats with two-tone gray/black from an 05. Therein lies my next question...the 'new' driver's seat from the 05 has more wires going to the gray plug than the 03 seats. I just installed the 05 driver's seat and the power adjustments don't work. The only fuse I pulled was the SIR under the seat on the passenger side. I searched the forum for wiring diagrams to no avail. Any ideas out there? Sorry for the crappy pic...don't know how to edit them...I'm OLD...LOL. Thanks!

I get that it's possible to replace a manual for a power seat but would there be any problems switching from a power to a manual seat...I found a cheap manual seat in good shape for $60 .... Wanted to make sure the switch would be easy peezy??? Help please

Re: Manual passenger seat convert to power

It should work fine, mechanically. The potential problem with going to a power seat, from a factory installed manual seat, is getting the seat adjusters to work, getting the seat heaters to work, etc. The seats themselves are phyically the same, afaik bolt up the same way. You are installing less electronics. It should be no more then plug and play.
