Re: CTS United States Production Figures

There's a red MKZ that I pass on my way to the grocery store. Its parked on a long boulevard facing west, so when I pass it on my way there I see the grill and a splash of red as I go past. From those angles its an attractive car. The grill is pretty nice, the red is a great color and its a pleasant car to see. Coming back from the store I don't really notice anything until the splash of red out of my peripheral vision, and that's it.

Take the CTS in the same parking space and its enjoyable coming and going. It beats the MKZ hands down. If the MKZ was black I don't think I'd even notice it as anything but another car parked in the street. The CTS just blows away almost anything else on the road when it comes to looks. The profile is the weakest view, but then its a 4 door sedan, and slab sides are just kinda dull.

I am sticking to my assertion that the CTS is going to be collected. Its a piece of art.

Re: CTS United States Production Figures

You can try one of the VIN decoders to see if it'll say how many match with that RPO for that year, etc. RPO being the manual trans one.

The 03-07 V6 models won't really become collectible. I highly doubt even the Vs of this generation will become collectible. If anything, the V2 will much further down the line, since it solidified Cadillac back in the game.

There was site named compnine. But it is down now. Ran my 08 manual vin thru and it said only 424 manuals that year. Don't remember Cts total. No V model in 08.

It was down for quite a few months mid year last year. He probably didn't notice its return.

Yes compnine is back! CTS production totals for 2008 were 114,044 cars. With 434 manual trans. Almost double the gen 1 volumes. But I saw quite a few gen 1 manuals when I was searching. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a higher percentage of manual trans.

434 manuals out of 114,044??? That's absurd...you'd think it'd be more around 5,000-10,000 at least...

    2003 total cts's = 75,000+-
    total with 5 speed = 3,119
    total with 3.73 gear = 3,462
    total ming blue = 6,729
total ming blue and 5 speed = 279
    total ming blue, 5 speed, FE1 suspension = 128

Where did you find a breakdown of 2003 production figures. It would be nice to see a total breakdown.

    Lot of good info here!
Should this be a sticky or a faq?
Lots more manuals made in gen1 vs gen2.
Quick Autotrader search confirms gen 2 manuals are very rare.
4200 V6 CTSs for sale but only 40 manuals nationwide.

    ----------

And 400 Vs for sale vs 33 manuals.
