    The throttle relearn process...

How to Relearn the ETC (electronic Throttle Control)
If the battery is disconnected, the electronic throttle control (ETC) may forget the zero throttle position too. If you find that your CTS runs poorly, you will have to have the re-learn the position.

    To do this,
    • Turn the key to the run position with the engine off for at least three minutes.
    • Then turn the key to the off position.
    • Start the engine and let it idle for 30 seconds.
    • Turn the engine off and restart. The learning process should be complete.

According to that page, there is no procedure for our cars. However, I had to do the procedure that I listed last year due to a certain CEL code that I received. It was something pertaining to the throttle position and what not, exact code I don't recall. After I did the procedure that I listed, no more CEL.

Throttle training only on the cold engine. All should be disconnected. Pedals can't be touched.
Include the engine, wait for 20 seconds and switch off it. Wait for 20 seconds. Repeat it 3 times. After the third time start the engine. Let it works before inclusion of the first speed of the fan of cooling. Smoothly press a gas pedal up to the end. Don't pay attention to a handicap. Smoothly release a gas pedal. Training is finished.

It is algorithm of programming by the diagnostic scanner which is available for dealers. If scanner isn't present-it procedure completely copies this process in manual mode.
