Check your dealer first, there should be a curiosity warranty fix for that. It's up to 10year or 100,000mile warranty that the factory put in for certain parts. The purge solenoid is one of them

i think the 10yr 100k warranty started in 2007 year cars... his will probably be something like 6yr 80k ... i can't remember tho for sure... i usually just run the vin and don't worry about guessing or remembering what years have what warranty ... just run the vin and look at what it says (luxury of having the GM warranty system a click and few keystrokes away, i guess)

I have an 06 as well and it is 5 year or 50,000 mile warranty. However, GM issued a "warranty recall" for something to do with the purge solenoid. I have the paper work at home, I'll post the number when I get home.

    Document ID: 2414429

#09205: Special Coverage Adjustment - Evaporative Emissions Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Warranty - (March 11, 2010)

The notice basically says that GM has extended the warranty period for this part only, to 10years or 120,000miles (193,000 km)

is that applicable to all 2006 models? other years also? or just a specific range of VINs in 2006?

i can look it up tomorrow i guess, but if you've got the full bulletin it should says so
(at the top it says the year make and models affected
but usually in the body it will specify all vehicles or a range of VINs

Your right, there is a range of VINs for each of the models. Unfornately, I don't know if it's just for 2006 or not.

yeah looks like only 2006 and only in those VIN ranges (but from the looks of it that is probably the full range of VINs for that year for those three models

    Shortstack posted this HID info.

"The ideal Kelvin temperature is between 4300-5000k. That is close to daylight and has the ability to cast a better shadow, which our eyesight relies on about 90%. The higher the Kelvin, the more color. Between 8k-10k is a blue, while anything above that turns to a pink or majenta color. The more color the less productive the bulb is to the human eye and its ability to catch a shadow. Now, any HID is brighter in light than an OEM bulb so you really cant go wrong either way. If you want color, thats fine. If you want superb visibility thats fine as well. Whatever you do, make sure the battery is disconnected while installing any HIDs. The current from an HID ballast can and will kill you."

    CurtC added

"4300k is as close to daylight as a light can get, 6000k is definitely blue, very blue. 8000k is even more blue...10000k starts getting purple, and 12000k is what you see in those Honda Civic's all the time."

Both of them are wrong. Sunlight is closer to 5500k. But that can change under different atmospheric conditions. And there is more to it than just Kelvin rating.

fwiw, studies have shown that incandescent lighting is most comfortable to the human eye. More so than halogen, and significantly better than fluorescent. Regardless of Kelvin rating, sunlight is yellow, not blue or white. And incandescent is closest to that color.

Megupload got busted. Kim Dotcom is the guy at the top. They say he's responsible for $500,000,000 in copyright nonpayments. He changed his name, obviously, and lives in Adelaide. He just lost the world record for World of Warcraft or some such game.
