Haha, but regardless I do feel proud of myself that I managed to actually do it. Now I just have to figure out why the right channel wont work. Next time shes over and were not busy I'm going to take it apart again and experiment with different right channel/ground combinations. The curious thing is that the right channel still works for CD and radio playback....
I give you full marks ... first time I've seen someone come up with a simple, low-cost, solution for an '03. Write it up in more detail and i might just do it to mine!
After not finding an easy solution, I went with a Motorola T505. It accepts music wirelessly (bluetooth streaming) from my mp3 and re-streams it via FM. It works surprisingly well. Quality from a hard-wired connection would be better, but nevertheless it is still very good.

Re: Mp3 input for 2003 CTS
Ah, so sorry. I got lazy and forgot. I forgot the colour coding on her CTS. If you can send me a picture of the back of a 2003 radio I can draw what I did. It does involve adding switches though. I'll take a picture of her car where I hid them.
hi here a pic from someone else post.
