How to use seafoam engine cleaner on your Cadillac CTS

Just wanted to make this thread for search purposes, explanation in image. The remainder of the seafoam can be split between your oil tank (if you are going to get an oil change soon,) and your gas tank.

I would only add that you will get a suprising amount of smoke. Your neighbors will wonder what is going on. Also do it close to an oil change. If your car is really bad, it could wash the clyinders a little. Great routine maintenance. I have been doing this on my rovers for 15 years now. Great write up man, thanks

can't you also put that in the oil and run for 5 min before oil change? or is that marvel mystery oil i'm thinking... also 3M makes a great kit that does the same thing but better you can get from murry's/orielly's for about 30.. have intake spray, vacuum bottle, and injector for gas

Search for it on line. If you have AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts. They may have it. I have four Auto Zones around me, but only two of them carry it. I also saw some at wal mart too.

As for that vacuum hose Lupin is talking about, that goes to the air intake anyways.

I got mine from my local autozone. I absolutely reccomend doing this, but make sure you change your oil within 200 miles of doing it

Re: How to use seafoam engine cleaner on your Cadillac CTS

Seafoam when run thru the vacuum hose and thru the throttle body will break up all that carbon build up and help your enine breathe a little better. it can basically do the same thing to your fuel system when run thru there as suggested...

SeaFoam is the product...it says SeaFoam on the outside of the can. just go into your local parts store and ask them for it. or just go by the gas treatment stuff and it should be in that area

Re: How to use seafoam engine cleaner on your Cadillac CTS

If you perform this a shown and only add seafoam to the vaccum hose and pour remainder in gas tank do you still need to change the oil within 200? Reason asking I'm having little rough idle and would like to see if this clears it, however I don't want to change my oil since I just changed less than two weeks ago. I don't want to turn a minor problem into a big one. The car has 67k on it so I'm thinking I might have little carbon buildup? Thoughts?

Re: How to use seafoam engine cleaner on your Cadillac CTS

if you go the route of putting it in your gas tank and thru a vacuum hose, you dont need to change your oil. if you put it in with your oil, then it is highly recommended that you change your oil within 200 or so miles
