I'm a first time Cadillac owner. I bought a used 2006 CTS with 29K miles on. The car is awsome, great shape..I love it.
My question is does anyone know how to get your cell phone to linc to the speakers so I can use the interior mic and speakers for phone calls? The car has ONstar and the rear view with the buttons on it but I have no idea if I can do this or if i need to use the Onstar portion and pay for this feature.
Since its a Caddy I figured this should not be an issue nor should I need to buy anything to make this work.
Am I making any sense?..Has anyone done this before? ALso, do any of the 2006 models come with blue tooth ??..
I checked the manual and I cant find anything on this..
ThankS!! |

not the best option, but its free and a quick fix for the time being.
i'm going to buy a GPS at some point this montth and going to get one with the bluetooth integration... i'd rather spend $400 on a good gps than spend $100 on a bluetooth gadget and then still want a good GPS |

If your '06 ships with a digital OnStar or was upgraded by the dealer, the BlueSTAR kit is not an option you, AFAIK. |

Because the 06 is digital from the factory. At least I believe they are, cus my 06 still works and it wasn't "upgraded" according to the carfax and repair history from a GM dealer.

I have the garmin 265wt. I can hear who I'm talking to but they can't hear me. The mic is garbage. Also if you put the volume on full it is all static. |

I think its called bluestar, someone on the forum has it and has good success with it. |

The Onstar hands free phone is great, but the minutes are expensive. When I bought the car (new), you get 1 year of free Onstar Service (Directions and Connections Plan) and 30 free minutes of hands free phone usage. They gave me 100 extra minutes for a nominal fee of $15.
However, when I went to buy more minutes, 100 minutes cost about $40 plus tax. Generally, they run a deal on a certain # of minutes. The best I've got was 320 minutes for $100 plus tax. I really like it, so I'm willing to pay for it. But you can't expect to have 2 hour conversations, it will cost a mint. Also, you must have Onstar Membership to be eligible for the hands free phone and that costs at least $200 a year, but you get some other very nice services as well. |

Yes, you do get your own phone #. The Onstar hands free is a very user friendly service. It's fully voice activated and you can store many numbers and give each # a nametag (such as "Office" or "Home"), so you don't have to constantly call out a phone number when you're calling a frequently called number. Also, the phone calls are routed through the radio speakers, so it's very clear. And the MIC is very good - the people I speak to hear me perfectly. Also, it's a violation to talk on a cell phone while driving in my state - you can get a ticket -but Onstar hands free is perfectly legal. I really like the Onstar hands free, but it is kind of costly. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
