like the black grille, im going to do the same to mine, i might get some stainless mesh and see what it looks like behind the grille (ghetto Sports Grille ftw?)
how much did it cost to have it painted?
lol you get more satifisaction when you do something yourself,, i did the black one on mine for maybe 30 bucks,, the white one is for ghetto mike had a friend paint it
i love how my grill is posted on the forum before i even have it in my hands hahah.
if you can bring that mesh tomorrow so you can help me put it on mine too...its the Italian-Canadian Sports grills LOL.
lol i painted yours black and you painted mine white...sweet deal!!!
hahahaha i got lucky though with the black spary paint hahaha your paint is too high end man itss gonna look sweeeet ill be at your placee soon dude
and its done!!!! i dont know why my blackberry pics look soo digitized today ...
how'd you guys mount the mesh behind the grille?.. oh and where did you get the mesh (stainless or chromed?), and lastly looks pretty awesome:cool:
hahahaha it take some extremme enginering ask mike lol its not as easy as it soundss... i drille holes through the top of the grille and put plastic push pins through the grille and mesh them locked them with some home made plastic washers i made to fit took maybe 30 min, most of that cuttin the mesh.. i used cheap galvinized chicken wire and shot it with some clear coat so it wont rust,, and if it does ill change it for another $10 lol not so ghetto anymore ehh lol
To everyone with rims!! Did you all get rims with a 5x115 bolt pattern or do some have 5x114.3? I have found barely used 5x114.3 for 5-600, and the 5x115 would cost me 1k+. So would I mess up by getting the cheaper ones. I have read all the threads and everyone has a different opinion, so if anyone has used these I'd like to know. Thanks
I had 18s in 5x114.3 with hub centric rings, no problem. But I sold them to buy 20s and I'm now on 5x115.
With 20s I would prefer the 5x115 due to bigger wheel and heavier.
You need a hub ring with a inside bore of 70.3 for the cts hub and outside bore of whatever the rims inside bore is.
im running 114.3s.. no ring just spacers and still works fine. rings are mainly there just to kill vibration...
but yeah my car updated..
caddy916squad...the hub rings arent mainly there just to stop vibration. they are actually there to even out the spacing between the hub and the rim. it does this to help the lug nuts stay on there and it doesnt make them brittle. you seriously should reconsider your thought on hub rings and get some, it is very dangerous if your studs start to break off and then your wheel comes off while you are driving...
well with that said " you believe hub rings center it out.. they dont.. no matter from a plastic to a aluminum ring they give it the spacing need to it appear centered yet killing vibration by giving it a cushioning.. i worked a lexus i learned oh so much about this haha..
so you can run ring or not.. they can come loose or put so much pressure to snap a stud its risky either way.
You can call up any tire shop from a whole in the wall to les schwab they will tell you the truth. its a bad idea either way.
the only true solution is to run what they call a wheel adapter or hub adapter...
look like this.
i have extended studs and after market neo chrome lugs.. that i use basically all for look.
my rims come off the car weekly kus im always working on things so im not too worried.
well good luck...i have experienced this first hand, except i caught mine before the tire actually came off while i was driving. i have used wheel adapters before and trust them more than i trust hub rings, but i dont want or need my tires sticky out that little extra that the wheel adapter causes. you mentioned your experience at a Lexus dealership and hub rings, well you are right it is risky either way, but if you have the hub ring on there properly, the risk is less likely...and you and i both know that is true to any wheels and car
i fully agree.. anything is a risk when changing factory stock options. dealers do what they do for a reason.
