I'm going to disagree with OD, and vote that you keep them. They look good enough, might not really add anything, but thet don't detract either. Keep them on for a while before making a decision. They've started growing on me already, third or fourth time I've seen the picture.

XRR, Im surprised you like all this of this aftermarket glue on bits, as they will lower the resale value. If someone would cut up the fender, get the vents to sit flush, it wouldnt look like something you buy in line at walmart.
I look at them the same way I look at the aftermarket interior trim pieces. Some of these trim pieces are clearly not cut to fit properly, and therefore look like cheaper aftermarket bits.

If the vents were functional like on the 2ndGen's, they would allow hot air to escape the engine bay. The holes being that small, tho, I doubt theyd make a huge difference when you reallly needed them.

I'm opened minded. I'm not going to diss something just for the fun of it. I don't think they look all that bad. I'd never add them to my car, but the guy shouldn't rush into taking them off, either. Give it while, he might decide he likes them, and its what he likes that matters.

Im as open minded as it gets. Open-mindedness doesnt preclude me from forming an opinion once I have all the relevant information, tho! An older much wiser family friend said to me once "Dont be afraid to entertain someone elses' opinion, and respect them enough to tell them yours."

I don't even like functional fender vents. It ruins the cleanness of the looks. High performance cars need them though. My V certainly could have used fender vents. On summer days, you could see the heat radiating off the front of the car.

Here is my 2007 CTS. Staggered 20 inch wheels. Added grill and rear spoiler. Other than that its stock. Rolling the fenders this weekend and going to lower it just a touch. Also going to remove my chrome and black it all out.

Re: Post your best pics of your cts here!

If you are in a one license plate state the front bracket needs to go.

REMOVING THE FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET

My car is light platinum. I removed the bracket, you'll be glad you did. It won't look stupid, because the worst result resembles the back bumper on the second generations. They have four "plugs" painted body color. At worst, you'll be reminiscent of second generation styling nuances.

The rivets holding the bracket are very soft. I used Craftsman side cutting pliers after I drilled through the center of each rivet. If I do it again I'll just use the side-cutters. I pulled the bracket off and the bumper was fully painted but a little dirty. I washed it off, and dried it, and the holes were noticeable, not bad, and definately an improvement, and that is the no-cost way. Just leave the holes alone.

I have a mayonaise jar full of various kinds of thumbtacks accumulated over the decades. I found four with tarnished metal heads, a size larger than the small thumbtacks normally sold. Tarnished medium-headed metal thumbtacks. I pushed the tacks through directly next to the outside of each hole, at the center of up and down. If the hole were a clockface, they are at 9 o'clock on the passenger side and 3 o'clock on the driver side. It forms a V. For me, cost-free, for anyone else...89 cents ???

Third way, buy plugs at the auto parts store. Black plugs through the holes still looks better than the license frame bracket. Cost $2.00

Fourth way...Paint the black plugs to match the body color. Cost...depends on how you paint it. I do not know what the Cadillac dealer would charge for painting four plugs. $3 for a can of spray paint up to who knows at the dealer.

The best way...use body putty and fill in the holes and have the bumper painted.

Then there's get a new bumper, without holes. Youch, that's a lot of money for almost nothing.

Underneath the bracket is a very beautiful, pointy snout that slices through the air, instead of a flat surface adding drag, and noise, and lowering gas mileage a tiny bit.
