    ???????????
"There might still be vibrations even with the ring due to width" - read as "there might still be vibrations and we don't want to be responsible"...

8.5" is on the small side of wheels that people use hubcentric rings on...I've seen as high as 10.5". The fact of the matter is the hubcentric ring does NOT support the wheel, it only assists on mounting the wheel center on the hub and then is bolted down with normal lugs. That's why most hubcentric rings are soft aluminum or plastic.

ORDER THEM ANYWAY! My wheel guy wanted me to order true 5x115 wheels too and fought me on getting 5x114.5s for fear of me having vibration problems. Problem is the wheel choices for that lug pattern are far and few between and most of the wheels did nothing for me so I assured him that if I had vibrations I would not hold him responsible and sure enough he ordered the wheels for me, and everything is FINE! I am running 20x8.5s with a hub centric. I have had the car up to 100 with no problems.

this is not really the the sts forum, but Im in the process of getting the cts instead, anyway I mounted 114,3MM on my sts and had the centerrings ordered to fit tight, I have never felt any vibrations in the car, just make sure to get the right measurement on the wheel and the hub, and you are good to go. The reason why you will have a risk of vibrations, is if the wheel do not fit the hub and the bolts and wheels will loosen a little, then the vibration will go right through the steering, the centering will make sure the wheel wont be loose and bumb around on the hub

Wow, those are mighty FINE! I'd be concerned that the wheels would stick out past the fender lip with that small an offset. I'd be looking for 50mm or greater... My 18 x 7.5's have 45mm offset and fit just right.

No, not 50mm. I wouldn't go over 45mm with 8.5" wide wheels, because you'd be smashing them into the upper steering knuckle (they'd be too far in).

35mm offset is probably too low. I even thought 38mm was pushing it. Try to stick around 40mm offset.
