Honestly I have no idea how fast I was going, but you know how it is. Most crashes happen in a 1 to 3 mile radius of your house.
Well I was trying to make a right hand turn from Route 214 on to Shewville Rd in Ledyard, CT. Instead of making the turn, I smacked right into an UBS lumber yard truck. I still can't believe that I was able to drive away and park her in my drive way. Though, of course I had to rip off the fog light housing and what not. They had to wait for their companies tow/repair truck. Because the bumper was all bent into the tire.
The pictures are a thousand words, so here you go.....

Glad you're alright, (otherwise who would ship me that grille when I win it tonight? ) Just messing about, but seriously, I'm surprised you were able to drive off and that MASSIVE machine wasn't. One could say that just shows the resilience of the CTS? |

try to snag your ballast off the headlight housing before you take it to the bodyshop if you have hid's, for all they know "it must have fallen off" and pull out the projector and keep the bulb if it is still ok..those bulbs are $150 i think. with the ballast you can sell it on ebay, here or just keep it for a spare.
just by the pics...
new hood, fender, bumper cover, headlight, drl and paint.
1 week at most in the shop and not a write off. maybe you can talk to the body shop pay the extra and get a V bumper cover and aftermarket cowel hood.
as for the airbags and onstar. there are airbag sensors and it looks like none got hit, or at least not hard enough to trigger them. on my jimmy i was in a accident hard hit, $10+k damage no airbags. the way i hit the bumper bent and the sensor didnt get touched..there are only 2 airbag sensors on the jimmy front bumper...if they would have gone off it would have been written off and i wish they would have because this truck is all over the road and i cant sell it because when im asked any accidents i dont lie... i just cant lie about something like that...guess some people are honest.. oh and clean carfax and clean title. |

What makes me wonder is that (at least on the pictures) it was sunny and the road dry. Did the car start to slide or was your turnig radius too large? |
