I've read around the site and you guys really know your stuff. I'm a younger guy and don't know much about cars but hopefully some of you can help me with my problems?
1. whenever I accelerate the car makes a weird noise which sounds like it's coming from the back of the car but as soon as I take my foot off the gas it stops(This ones my biggest concern) the sound is like a low humming but some days its louder than others!
2. my back passenger window doesn't go down unless I do it from the driver side(yes I've checked if the window locks were on haha)
3. My car is absolutely terrible in the rain I have already gotten into one very tiny accident due to a slippery turn and a few near accidents? any Tips for driving in rain or on tires?
thats all i can think of right now any help on these topics would be very appreciated!! |

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust on the car or is it original OEM? If its an aftermarket exhaust the sound you could be hearing is the drone from the exhaust, may need a resonator or some thing to tone down the car. Drive cautiously in the rain, it is a rear wheel drive car. As for the window you may need a new window module for motor, but i could be wrong maybe someone else can take over from here and help out other guys here know there stuff. |

Take a couple pictures of the mufflers and upload them to photobucket, then post them here. Quick question though, is your car dual or single exhaust? Even if we determine it's factory, dual exhaust will always have a "louder" hum to it than single.

all the way in the back are the mufflers. also like KOT said is it a dual exhaust or single. Take pics. |

Any Fixes? get some good all season tires and leave traction control on... dont drive like an idiot on slick surfaces (ie, dont punch it around turns or ya, the back end will go out) |

Any Fixes? haha ya ever since that small accident i drive like my car cant go over 45 mph. all that happened was me slipping off the road and i hit my right headlight into a barrier cracking the whole casing and lamp. not too much damage but devastating bc a lot worse couldve happened if i was going faster into a barrier. |

The dealer said it was with the programming of the transmission/torque converter. They said when it's at a certain low frequency/resenancy, it can resenate thru the eshaust. When the torque converter is engaged and I give it light throttle anywhere between 30-50, it moans slightly throughout the exhaust system. It stops when it shifts to a different gear causing it to rev higher. I think there might be a service bulletin floating around out there that decribes this moaning, and calls for reprogramming of the transmission... I'll try to find it |

I even have 100+ pounds of stereo equipment in my trunk and good tires and they easily slip if i dont ease up a lil.

Go to discounttires.com and tirerack.com. Good reviews on tires, including hydroplaning, light snow, med snow, noise, etc. Tirerack has a graphical pic comparing a variety of tires. I will not buy any tires prior to reviewing the info there. |

ABS sucks, you will have to get a grip on it or pay for small dings etc. we need to get the industry to make a manual hand control of this function or small accident will be forever........................................... .................................................. .................................................. ......... | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
