Ordered a dash kit from carid.com on October 13th. Got it on Friday, the 23rd so a 10 day turn around which I guess isn't terrible. Was all excited to get it installed and wow...First of all, the pieces aren't a hard or appealing plastic like every dash kit ever, but rather an extremely flexible gel material. The pieces laid awkwardly on the dash and were beyond thick so it gave a VERY aftermarket appearance. Sent the company an e-mail and am working on a return. Anyone else order a dash kit from these guys and have a better result?? Any similar results? Anyone have any suggestions on where I can get a nice, clean looking dash kit instead of this obviously aftermarket stuff??
Just wanted to rant a bit and hopefully get a better suggestion. |

I ordered from them when they were called "Woodgraindash.com" and i was satisfied with the results. Before I got the kit, my freinds would get in the car and say it looked cheesy for a Cadillac with all that plastic on the dash. i did a combination of the aluminun and the wood and now I get compliments on the look of it. http://i836.photobucket.com/albums/z.../dashcnt09.jpg |

It may not come directly from Carid (I thinks). Just look at the item you are getting and do some research on what company made it.
Good look though cause i was thinking about getting one from Carid. I bought other items from them without any issues. |

I was thinking of getting a dash kit to cover a few wear items here and there. |

The problem is that the glue in the back is a 3/4 of a cm, and plus the stainless steel (my kit) adds up to a full 1.25 cm, so it just looks like I glued on hunks of crappy metal to my dash and called it a day.
Let me tell you that my kit looks absolutely nothing like Sammy Z's. My kit is broken down to a bunch of small little slices, rather than those big pieces. |

Put some on (real brushed aluminum) and tore it all off. Except for the steering wheel piece, because some of the finnish was wearing off anyway, and the piece that went directly over the ashtray. I added a caddy wreath on the ashtray piece and it looked good, the rest looked like poo. I threw the remainder of the kit in the garbage. |

I was thinking of taking all the pieces off and stripping the glue from the back and re gluing with some thin glue, but that would be an insane amount of work. |

The other pices I mangled taking them off so I couldn't even ebay the rest of the kit.
I've learned to love the interior of the CTS and it's simplicity.

I want to see about scanning the patterns in and maybe get them laser cut on a decent material. |
