| Why in the world haven't you beat the living s__t out of this person yet. I would have baseball batted his teeth out long ago if he fingered me every morning. |

Yes, I think it was just a stupid kid. Probably didn't even intend for you to drive (most people wouldn't get into a car if they noticed a flat tyre.) My theory is that he cut the tyre and the brake line just to cause as big of a headache to you as possible. Probably cut the tyre just enough to where it started to hiss, so that he could get away with less risk of being caught.
If I were in your shoes, however, I would install one of those laser trip silent alarms and have the receiver in my bedroom, so that when someone entered my driveway, It would alert me, and give me the notice to grab a weapon and head outside. If it were me, and I caught someone slashing my tyres, I would likely just hold them at gunpoint right where I caught them (Citizen's arrest) until the police arrived. In most states in the US, and many other countries, it is lawful to do so if you see someone in the process of committing a felony. Sabotaging or attempting to steal someone's vehicle are both felonies.
Check the laws in your area. |

It makes more sense then some mad kid randomly slashing tires and cutting break lines.. But definately get some secuirity devices installed The silent alarm would probably be the cheapest way to go right now... Catch that mofo in the act like Lupin says and send him to jail! |

i really doubt it was the guy next door, i have known him for..well lets just say my parents knew him before i was born. my family has lived in this area for over 30 years and no issues till recently.
my dad made the police report and i havent talked to him yet but the cop was a girl and she was trying to brush it off and make it seem as if i did it to my own car, im guessing she thought i would make a insurance claim to get tires..well im not its not worth it and the brake line is only $40 . i was planning on buying 4 new tires over winter and giving these ones to my gf anyway ..so thats not a big deal. its not the money (we all know ive dumped almost 2 grand into this car in the last 2 months...) its just a big pain!!!!
my dad found a survalance system and program we are getting. it turns any computer into a multi port dvr, we will be having a couple cameras set up probably 3 or 4 im thinking and we will be able to store about 1 week of video which is more than enough, and if its not we can add a 2nd hrad drive. we are putting it in my desktop computer that i havent used in a long time but it is still a deacent computer and will now surve a purpose with a 240gig hd full of still video of my CTS!!! Search around amazon for "driveway monitor," find stuff like this Amazon.com: Driveway Patrol Sensor and Receiver... and pick whichever suits your fancy. There's one that just turns on a lamp in your room when it detects someone so you can just look out your window and inspect without too much noise. I think most of them are designed not to detect small animals like cats or just useless motion like trees, but are more designed to pick up large animals, humans, and vehicles.
The reason I condone these driveway monitors is because on the Daily Paul forums someone was also having trouble with people breaking into cars/houses etc in their neighborhood, which was also noted to be incredibly safe. He used his to catch some vandals attempting to break into his house or car (I can't recall) a few weeks later. |

this system has intrusion zones so you put a grid on the screen and if there is any movement in a selected area it will set off a buzzer or you can have it turn on a light. so i wont need motion lazer sensors, this has motion built in. seems like a deacent home system for now... its not industrial grade but its good. |

my dads friend/ guy that sells the dealership their security equiptment sold it to me, it came with a application to view on my blackberry in realtime only problem is our internet is bouncing ip addresses so im working on setting a fixed address to it because every time i go to load it up i cant get a web page, so i go down to the the dvr and check the ip address and it has changed.
i found some cheap PTZ cameras on ebay i may order one just to try it out, the system i have can also controle the ptz with the program, i dont need a seperate joystick or what we have at work is called a matrix controller which feeds the cctv monitors and the dvr's with more monitors... its a weird setup at work...a mix of 10 year old equiptment matched up with bran new equiptment.... a lot of un-needed monitors and wires. |
