I'm about to change the thermostat and Coolant Temp Sensor on my 2003 CTS. It has the 3.2 liter V6. Before I get started I was looking for the Intake bolt torque specs and possibly a walkthrough on removing the Intake.
Plan on 6 - 8 hours, get a new t-stat and housing and the o-rings (about $45), 1-2 gal of anti-freeze and a good magnet. I was able to get all the help by doing a search on this site. I dropped a lot of screws so that eat up probably two hours fishing them out. 99% chance the problem is your t-stat, I purchased the temp sensor as well but decided that to eliminate the componants, I'd do the t-stat first and that fixed my Check Engine light. It wasn't hard, just a lot of work.
Before I started, I had the engine running and pulled the fuse on the fuel pump to releave the presure for when you disconnect the line.
BTW, last week I had to do it on my wife's Maxima, took 20 min.
