I have a 2003 Cadillac CTS with 120,000 miles (all driven by me) and am interested in getting a Transmission Oil Exchange, and Differential Oil Change during my next oil change visit. Anything that I should know about prior to having this done?
I have read that there is no way to check the Transmission Oil on a 2003 3.2L. Will this cause any complications in the exchange process?
If you've got 120K and haven't done a transmission service yet, don't do it as you will likely cause problems. I've known too many people who did the service for the first time after 100K and started having slipping issues. Either do it on a regular basis or don't do it at all; this information came from the owner of a transmission service/rebuild shop.
I don't think you will have any issue's getting it done as long as they allow it to be done. I know most places wont touch the sealed trans though unless it has problems.
Yes, on the 03's you cannot check the fluid, they are sealed transmissions.
