CTS Brakes

I have a 2006 CTS V6. I need front brake pads. What type pads came from the factory, ceramic or semi-metallic? I'm looking at the Wagner Pads at Advance. They have either ceramic or semi-metallic at the same price.

Thanks

John

Re: CTS Brakes

I like these two sites because you can search by the exact model:

http://www.topbrakes.com/index.cfm?s...FRlinAodSlE2Bw

http://www.tirerack.com/

The OEM pads are not ceramic.

Re: CTS Brakes

Thanks for the info. Would you recommend the ceramics or the semi-metallic?
Both sites were helpful.

Thanks again,

John

I will be changing mine in the next month, and I'll be using ceramics. I have the FE5/JE5 package, and the top brake site above has POWERSTOP Z-16 CERAMIC's for $51 an axle.

$100 for all four wheels, when the local dealer wanted to charge me $250 for the rears, none ceramic.

Re: CTS Brakes

Be sure to have the rotors cut or get new rotors so they don't pulse on you.

Re: CTS Brakes

Actually, OEM is ceramic. At my shop we would use Monroe part# MBK CX921
They come with clips and ships to help avoid squeeks. Also, make sure you measure then cut the rotors, otherwise they will eventually squeek.

Re: CTS Brakes

The sport is a little thicker rotors I have heard..if you buy new ones just put the sport ones on, they are the same calapers, just a stronger rotor. Not much thicker and should be the same price.
