James you ever seen a purple torque converter? Every second owner MDX know what that is)))) Constructors can also be mistaken for different reasons. Marketing as well.

the list price is $540 - was the $600 quote including tax or labor?
if it was including labor then it was a pretty good deal

Marketing, yeh I know, I was paraphrasing the GM commercial. But when someone pulls my Carfax they see "dealer installed AC/Delco parts" and a potential buyer thinks "no cost-cutting on this beauty". They see some aftermarket cooler and they ask "What's that ? Is this thing held together with duct tape and baling wire ?".

James, our opinions diverge. AC Delco does not the best parts of the world. Why pay more?

    He's definitely not a millionaire.
Most Ac/Delco parts are not made by them, but rather by a licesnsed contractor.

Re: Trans cooler lines pulled out of radiator???

Saving money is the key to my existence, Shorty.

Thanks to Carfax, there's a whole new spin on things though. The bigger Carfax gets, the more people rely on it to make a buying decidion. When I add my own parts and do my own work, it doesn't get reported to Carfax. When I go to sell the car, I'll get more when the Carfax says 100,000 miles Cadillac dealer installed new sparkplugs, than I would have without it, maybe enough to make it worth paying dealer prices. So far I've been able to get discounts on almost everything I've bought and had done. I still haven't done my brakes by the way. My serpentine tensioner started wobbling and put the brakes on hold. I bought a new AC/Delco tensioner for $68 and a Gates belt from Carquest for $25, and have them sitting/hanging here waiting to be installed. I might get the other belt and tensioner. I haven't quite made up my mind. So the car is sitting except for the grocery store and doctor. No long cruises till I change the tensioner. Speaking of which, some people bought $30 tensioners and they broke right away. This one says "Litens" on it, with an AC/Delco box. Listed for $137.85, my cost $68. Belt listed $38, I paid $24. Now if I take my parts to the dealer, it will get reported to Carfax...is it going to get me a better price when I sell ? Unless Carfax goes under it will.

Aren't most parts like that? No matter the manufacture of the car?

Yes, the point was, that thinking you are buying Genuine GM is not always the case. Some manufacturers make parts for several auto makers, like Magna Int'l., Raybestos, Wagner........

Re: Trans cooler lines pulled out of radiator???

Apparently it's $600 just to buy the part over the counter from dealer.
Found a aftermarket rad for $150, thats a huge difference in price...going to check out tomorrow if it's actually a new radiator that i require.
Getting my spark plugs done tmrw, picked up Ac delco platinums for $12 CAD a pop, man this shit is expensive, dealer wanted $20 a plug lol.
