2005 CTS 3.6L Issues - Help

Remove this ad
I need your help. I recently bought a 05' CTS 3.6L, about 40 days ago. It has 31,000 miles on it. It does have the sport button option on the console. The problem I am experiencing is not an everyday issue. It happens about every 7 days. When it shifts from 1st to 2nd to 3rd etc it jerks violently. It usually won’t shift until it hits about 4,000 RPM and this is at 20 miles per hour…minimal gas pedal. And when it down shifts it does the same. Almost as if it is sticking. That is the best I can describe it. Also on occasion it will die. Normally this occurs when you have driven it, then stop and go again. Once you turn it off, it seems both issues are resolved until the next time. There are no warning lights coming on. And the dealer I purchased it from could care less. I don’t think one problem is related to the other. But I don’t know for sure. Fuel pump and filter come to mind. But the transmission problem I am guessing is a computer issue. For a car with such little miles on it, it’s very upsetting. I have looked everywhere to find an answer or someone who has had similar issues to give me an idea what it could be. Before I spend who knows how much at the dealer I would like to be educated best as possible. Even when I contacted the Cadillac dealer, the service rep had no clue and didn’t seem like he wanted to deal with it. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: 2005 CTS 3.6L Issues - Help

The dealer you purchased the car from didnt give you a in house warranty on the car? I mean 40 days later the car is giving you a issue like this, def not a good sign. Then your saying the dealer doesn't care? Real bad business on their end. Have you checked you trans fluid level? I attempted to check mines the other day but I couldn't find a dipstick for it. I hope you resolve the issue, because that does suck. A recently purchased car giving issues and the dealer won't help. Good luck.
