Personalization of radio

I bought my cts used and i am sick of seeing the old owners name pop up. I read the manual and read the steps but when it says to push the 1 button on the driver side door and the personalization screen should pop up it does nothing. My car is off and in accessory mode and parking break is pushed in, i am confused. Does anyone know what might cause this?

first select the driver (#1 or 2 on the driver door) then go into the menu options using the radio. scroll using the dile on the right, i havnet done it in a while. i know i was a little vaig but if you cant take it from here then ask for more info and ill go fire up my car and figure it out step by step for you, i dont remember it being that hard.

thanks, but the problem is when i press the #1 or #2 button nothing pops up on the radio, if it is off i see the time and if it is on i see the radio stations, but no other screen.

Press unlock on your keyfob and it will change the profile to one associated with it. (on the 04 anyway)
