Water in power steering fluid- damage?

Remove this ad
Hi, I did a power steering fluid flush today with Valvoline power steering fluid because it had gotten so low that the old fluid got burned. Afterward, I rinsed my engine off with degreaser and water to get rid of the leftover power steering fluid on the reservoir, but guess what? My power steering fluid cap seal has a leak in it apparently because the fluid turned a kind of milky white color. The store is closed, so my question is will driving my car tomorrow with that fluid in it damage it in any way? I would be flushing it tomorrow anyways. I would be driving about 100 miles tomorrow. Thanks for your help!

Re: Water in power steering fluid- damage?

Hey, just an update on this, I did drive the car with the milky looking power steering fluid... for about 3 days until the check power steering message came on. I changed it after that, but I used some prestone steering fluid, and now it has aq leak . I'm changed the ps fluid with some fluid that meets the GM spec, but I'm going to be taking the car to the dealer tomorrow to get the leak checked out.
