Re: 3rd Brake light fix with pix(redeux)

    Hey Tommy,

I have been reading and re-reading your post just to make sure I have my mind in the right place to do this and I have a question. Your second freehand drawing that includes the second transformer and the resisitor you received with the "Lost" transformer. I intend on using a single transformer so I understand this should not be a problem, however, just to be sure, I wll want to include this resistor, correct ? As long as I mirror your drawing minus the second transformer ?

    Thanks !

if you get the same transformers as me, get 2. and you only need to hook up one resistor. i had originally used one transformer but noticed a small dead spot in one tube, and if your battery voltage drops it will get dimmer. 2 is optimal, just a bit of trial and error on my part.

Ok... Where did you get the slotted cover for your reverse lights? I want one! Will it work on an 05? I think my reverse lights are different.

you mean the bolts on the back of the trunk lid? under the liner. once all the bolts are off it will pull out, once you get the bezel off, just make sure you undid the wire harness. you might just have to pry it abit, i'd try with your finger tips first, before potentially scratching your paint with a screw driver. it should come off with little force. i think there is 6 or 7 nuts to undo but i can't remember.

    Jack this.

It make no sense to attempt to repair the neon setup. The neon stuff is junk.

The lamps need to be converted to LED.

Hey i really really like the way your 2 white reverse lights look. Whats that housing thing covering the lights called, and where did you get it? Thanks

Also to Logan, i checked your link out and when i found the tail light for a cts on ur link, it says,
"Mail in LED lamp conversions available. We will convert your lamp to a more reliable LED lamp. Currently have model year 2003 unpainted panel versions available. This is a neon lamp and not LED. Call for details."
Does that mean that the light is LED like the beggining of what they says implies. Or is it a neon lamp?

So you charge 200.00 for an LED fix, what makes it better than the LED strips that I could buy for less than 50.00, and do it myself?
I guess it's a viable option for the non DIYers.
I would never pay it, if i were to go LED.
    IMHO neon looks better.

A few places have them, wooddashexperts.com and us speed to name a couple. It's called a rear bezel.

Yup it's just glue. Keep heating it up and keep prying slowly, it will eventually come apart, just have patience.
