I am new to the cts and was trying to pull codes using the various methods posted here. I have an 06 CTS 3.6L With Luxury And Sport Package. I have tried the F1 & F6 method but nothing seems to happen. I would greatly appreciate if anyone would be able to tell me how to do this.

The F1 - F6 only works on the 03 and early 04. after that, if you need the code, stop at a parts store, they will read it for free. Or you can invest in a code reader, about $100. I have four cars all out of warranty so I purchased the reader, it's paid for its self.

Go to Autozone or any auto part store chain. If you go to the mechanic or the dealer they will try to charge some where around $70 to just read the code.
