I'm new to the forum. I don't own a Cadillac yet but am in the market for a CTS. We wanted a rear-wheel drive car and we were thinking a Chrysler 300. Took a little test drive. Then we drove a CTS. Big mistake. Chrysler is OUT of the picture....
What are some of the things I should look for when shopping? Good things and bad things, etc.....
I don't want a "V", so I'm thinking a a 3.6. Would a 2.8 be okay?? I've only driving the 3.6 and it was nice.
Anyhow, your input would be greatly appreciated. |

You want low miles, a lot of options, and a newer year. Stay away from 2003-2004. You would be okay with a 2.8L, but there are many more 3.6L available. |

definitely make sure you get as many options as you can, because you will enjoy it more in the end...i have a 3.2L and that is enough engine, but i would definitely go for the 3.6L if i was doing it all over again... |

Top Gear did a test to show fuel consumption has alot to do with driving manners. BMW M3 v. Toyota Prius. lol. driving at the same speed around the track for X-amount of miles, the M# got 19 mi per gal the prius got 17. |

My trunk has trouble opening by itself, but once open, it stays open. I really don't have the willpower to fix it. It's not really a problem though. |

Thanks to all for your input. I'll continue checking this post of more info as we continue our quest to find a nice car. Here in Tucson we don't have a real wide selection but we're not that far from Phoenix and we've even looked a little on SoCal. After New Years we'll get serious and hopefully be driving a CTS soon.
Thanks again,
