    Bells and chimes dont work

Ok, So I installed a 12" sub and amp in my 04 CTS. I recently got tired of 1 12" so i went to remove it. Upon unplugging the wires, i guess something crossed and touched. Later i relized that my alarms, chimes, and bells dont bong or make any warning noises at all. Does anyone know if this is a fuse or something that can be fixed easy? Or does any one know what it is at all? Thanks.

Are you serious? now i dont know when i run out of gas. Well if you want to do it. I think it happened when my neg(-) and pos(+) speaker wires in the back touched. Any one else out there know anything about this?

If you disconnected the factory amp you just murdered any and all chimes.

The body control system sends signals to the amplifier to cut into the left front audio channel and play the chimes.
Be removing the factory amp you have eliminated the car's ability to do that.
OnStar won't work either, but you may not care about that.

Very serious! Chimes don't tell you when youve run out of gas, only when you are close to empty. And I can look at the gas guage for that... And its kinda easy to tell when you completely run out of gas...

    The chimes are godawful annoying.

Is there a way to get rid of the chimes without disconnecting the factory amp?

Just checked it out. Amp is still connected, fuse panel in engine shows no blown fuses, underseat panels show no blown fuses.

bells and chimes are good becasue they let you know if you are running out of gas or if you might have left one of your doors open while your driving on the highway, or your trunk, or if your car is having a problem. warnings are good to have in my opinion. I dont have a DIC screen anymore becasue of my alpine DD deck.
