So my new question is "What would cause the CD player to spin up every 20 seconds?" Could it be an Onstar issue? Of course, now I suspect that the CD player is whats causing the battery to be draining... |

I have this same year cts and I don't know where the amp is can you tell me? I read you say your trunk is getting wet so I suppose somewhere in there, but where? If I could find mine I might be able to tell you for sure how that clip comes off. I'm installing a Jl Clean Sweep to my amp. |

I had an electrician look at my car and he said that there were two connections on the main fuse box (under the hood) that was drawing power when the car was turned off. He said they were the "BODY W/H - Wiring Harness Connection" connections. Do you have any ideas of how I should address this or any ideas what I should be looking at? |

The trunk release switch was drawing constant power when the car was off. I removed the fuse and the battery is now okay. But the question now is "how is the amp and/or cd player related to the trunk release switch? I'm going to conitnue the troubleshooting by disconnecting the connector on the trunk release mechanism and see if the draw is coming from there, if not it has to be the switch on the drivers side door. All opinions would be appreciated. |

Whenever you open a door and the lights go on, the voltaqe drop signals the radio/CD to get to the ready state and spin the CD. Since the trunk switch is bad, the voltage drop is causing the same signal to the radio and the combination of "bad switch" and "spin the CD" are running down the battery. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
