I did mine when I was at 50-52% trans fluid life on DIC. It was at approx. 82500 miles. I did it so the dealership would stop calling me for that service! |

You can do a full transmission service for approx 250$ CAN.
If I were you, I would do it!
for your 100% trans fluid life, their's some 03-04 that its stuck at 100% and some that decrease (like mine) during time, mileage related. It is your money, your car. There is too many stories that say transmission flush or service is not good and for others, no problem related to that. |

Requires special procedure to check and fill. Trans is sealed. Also requires special equipment to flush. |

Start the car, let it run for a bit.. drain..fill..start the car..drain fill.. its long... but doable if you have room in your garage and the patience! |

How many quarts did you go through, total?
Thanks! |

Thats why you have to do multiple flush (if you do it yourself), to take everything out of the old fluid.
When I said to start the car, let it run for a bit... after that I meant to stop the car, drain back, refill, restart, restop, redrain....
Total of 3x4l that took me and now its clean as kool-aid! lol |

I also understood your process.
ANd is that 3-4 liters or 34 liters or what?
Thanks again. |

anyway.. yes, you're right.. no my car doesn't have 13 liters of atf fluid in the transmission... You can overfill it yes, but when you'll check if the level is okay, its gonna go out anyway... then you wait til only some drops fall on the ground and thats it, you're good to go. If you dont have enough, just try to fill it until some drops fall on the ground.
I know that I did use approx 13 liters to do my own service but I never said that I put 13 liters of atf in the transmission. I always refer the proper level in the owners manual. drain fill drain fill drain fill.. I used about 13 liters total. The dealer only sell the atf in gallon so thats why I said approx. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
